Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years. Her reporting focuses on natural disasters as well as areas of war. Curry has covered wars across the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19, 1956 in the city of Agana) is an American anchor, reporter on television and journalist. Her most renowned work was for being a correspondent of the Today Show, a morning news program that was broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry's work was noted because of her coverage of human crisis that occurred in war-torn countries as well as natural disasters. Curry's father served as a sailor with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Her father met his mother in Japan while he was stationed in Japan following World War II. Family members were constantly on the move because of her dad's military service. They eventually settled in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. Curry graduated from the University of Oregon awarded her the degree of bachelor of arts in journalism. It is possible that she developed an empathetic way of communicating due to her exposure to different cultures throughout her life. Curry did not have the opportunity to go to a single school in Alameda, San Diego Oregon or Virginia over the course of two years, due to her family was constantly moving. Ashland was her final high school. She began a career that led to a lucrative career by working as a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news reporter at the station, at age 22. Then, she was anchor and reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. In Los Angeles, she became a reporter at KCBS TV four years after having moved into the city. The two Emmy Awards were won during the six years she worked for TV station KCBS.
